How Can I Help?

Compassion and mercy are difficult concepts to put into words.  Many times it takes seeing the utter destruction of a major disaster to ever comprehend why and how compassion and mercy are so vital.  Those on the "front lines" of compassionate care giving need support.  The people who day in and day out give of their hearts, love and resources are the true heroes of our time.  Working many times 12 hours per day or more, without pay or any compensation; those who have voluntarily devoted their lives in service to helping others deserve our prayers and financial support.

The men and women who daily volunteer to deliver food to the elderly, provide transportation for the disabled, find a warm bed for the homeless and food for the hungry should be the most highly respected people on earth.  Unfortunately, many of these people are scorned by families and friends and looked down upon by a selfish society.  Who is going to help take care of the care givers?  Certainly not the government and except for the large charities, not the organizations for which they volunteer.  Missionaries, local food pantries, small thrift shops or community outreach programs all have one thing in common; they are willing to forgo the comforts of living to help someone else who is in need.

Heart2Heart SHARE does not accept donations for itself or any organization.  If you want to help, we place you in contact with an individual or an organization who is serving at ground zero and on the front lines of compassionate giving.  One person or one group cannot possibly know what the needs are at many different locations at one time.  That is why we feel it would be better to deal directly with someone who knows what is needed and work out arrangements for sharing resources with them.

Many people have experienced the heartache and the joy of working with those who have been devastated by life's storms by volunteering themselves.  Taking a week to go work directly with those in need can be an incredible learning experience as well as a time of great personal healing.  Many times the way to finding help is in helping someone else.  Volunteering, whether locally once a month or taking a week to go on a "mission trip" is rewarding for you, the group you are helping and the people receiving the help.

The Bible is full of commands to give freely. God designed us to love giving, when we find an appropriate place to give and do it willingly.  Giving is not limited to the tithes given to the local church, but it encompasses the whole arena of loving service.  Giving is a lifestyle not a chore to be performed grudgingly on Sunday morning.  When the heart is allowed to freely give in all capacities, one's whole life is changed.  Giving opens the floodgates to receiving God's abundance in every realm.  Heart2Heart SHARE promotes giving and sharing of resources with those devastated by life's storms.

Please, on behalf of a multitude of suffering people, will you search your heart and see if there is a part of you that longs to serve, wants to share and needs to give.  If so, then please either contact one of the Sharing Partners on this website, or contact Heart2Heart SHARE directly.  There is a world of need out there that few people know or care about.  We do not want, nor can we accept your gifts.  But we can direct you to people who have reputable 501(c)3 charities with hearts of compassion and mercy.
